Local. Custom. Built Right. That's Fence Deck Sheds.
Fence Deck Sheds is Tim's business — and Tim is the guy who shows up, does the work, and answers the phone when you call back. Based out of 1560 Riverdale Road in Thunder Bay, we've been building custom fences, decks, and sheds for homeowners across the city. We're not a franchise. We don't use subcontractors. Every job is built by the same crew that quoted it.
Tim's Story — Why We Started Fence Deck Sheds
Tim has been working in construction and carpentry in Thunder Bay for years. He started Fence Deck Sheds because he kept seeing the same thing: homeowners getting quotes from companies that sent a crew who'd never set foot on the property before, used whatever lumber was on the truck, and moved on to the next job without a second look.
That's not how Tim works. When you call Fence Deck Sheds, Tim comes to your property personally. He measures. He looks at the ground — because in Thunder Bay, the ground matters. He gives you a number that reflects the actual job, not a national average plugged into a calculator.
He built this business on repeat customers and word of mouth. In Thunder Bay, that means something. You can't fake quality in a city where everyone knows someone who knows you.

Our Commitment to Thunder Bay Quality
Materials
We source pressure-treated lumber rated for northern Ontario, cedar that's properly graded, and composite products with manufacturer warranties. We don't cut corners on materials because the materials are what you're paying for.
Building Standards
All work is performed to the Ontario Building Code where applicable. Frost footings are set to local depth requirements — no shortcuts that look fine in June and fail in April.
Part of the Thunder Bay Community
Tim has lived and worked in Thunder Bay long enough to know every neighbourhood — from the established streets of Fort William and Port Arthur to the newer builds out in Northwood and Westfort. He's built fences in Current River, decks in Intercity, sheds in Jumbo Gardens and McIntyre.
He knows what the ground does here in spring. He knows the frost lines. He knows which neighbourhoods have difficult terrain and which have clay that holds water all summer. That kind of local knowledge doesn't show up on a national contractor's website.
When you hire Fence Deck Sheds, you're hiring someone who's invested in this community — not a call centre that dispatches the nearest available crew.
